Job Summary
Provides antepartum, postpartum and gynecological care in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures, based on the best practices and guidelines of the American College of Burse-Midwives and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Provides outpatient ambulatory care, as well as patient care. Collaborative management and consultations will be provided by attending staff physicians.
Job Duties
+ Performs clinical responsibilities outlined in the clinical privileges checklist including; prenatal care, Intrapartum care, postpartum care and gynecological care.
+ Performs patient teaching, counseling and management in the areas of preconceptual care, pregnancy and well woman gynecology.
+ Collaborates with other health care providers to achieve optimal health care outcome.
+ Meets CME requirements as defined by the American College of Nurse- Midwives and keeps continuing education, as well as nursing license and midwifery license up to date.
+ Attends staff and divisional meetings as well as appropriate nursing meetings.
+ Regional and state involvement with nurse-midwifery chapter meetings.
+ Maintains availability as a consultant and educator for nursing students, nursing staff, medical students and residents.
