The Certified Nursing Assistant performs routine duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for the hospitalized patient. The care is rendered under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. These duties may include assisting the patient in the routine activities of daily living, help keeping patients comfortable and tending to their basic needs. Tasks include assisting with meals as needed, answering call lights, patient positioning, toileting, making beds, giving baths and massages, and filling water pitchers and ice bags. The CNA may also perform routine tests, such as vital signs and others for which they have competencies documented. Performs other duties related to the work described herein.
