The role you’ll contribute:
The C.N.A./Health Unit Clerk (HUC) is responsible for welcoming guests to the unit. S/he is accountable for performing a variety of clerical tasks related to the updating and organizing of information on the nursing units and coordinating work within the unit as well as with other departments.
The C.N.A./HUC is responsible for acting as a role model for the mission, and patient promise of AdventHealth. S/he is accountable for working within the parameters of regulatory standards, established policies, protocols, and procedures.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Perform various clerical duties relating to the updating and organizing of information on the nursing unit as illustrated by the following;
Follow up on delayed lab and imaging results by informing the Clinical Coordinator
Communicate admission bed assignments to the staff RN
Ensure all documentation/logs are completed accordingly (consults, transfers, BA52, EMS report, call light, etc…)
Complete consult and calls, inclusive of SOC in a timely fashion and as ordered by the provider
Answer the telephone in a professional manner; direct calls to appropriate individuals, and relay messages
Maintenance tasks relating to the medical record
Complete and ensure an accurate call schedule for use by the ED providers
Process all transfers and ensure all documentation required is complete.
Fax and photocopy information as needed
Ensure established inventories of forms and office supplies.
Ensure vocera log and “tracking” of each device is maintained shift to shift
Coordinate specific work tasks with other personnel within the unit as well as within other units and departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
Performs EKGs within designated timeframe
Transport of admitted patients to assigned unit(s)
Provides supportive care to patients under the direct supervision of an RN
Assists patients to unclothe themselves and place patients on the monitor as indicated
Maintains cart and supplies on the unit required for daily operations.
Participates in purposeful hourly rounding
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
High school graduate
EMT, CNA or RMA certification
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
