JOB SUMMARY The Certified Nursing Assistant partners with our residents and other care providers to create a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment by providing direct and indirect care. 3 East is a 31-bed specialized unit, working with Alzheimer's/dementia residents, and tailoring care to meet their needs. Key aspects of this unit are the use of both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, understanding the difficult behaviors that are sometimes associated with residents that have Alzheimer's/Dementia, as well as understanding that these behaviors can be valid communications . It provides needed care to those residents needing long-term placement in a home-like environment. JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION + Graduate of Maine State Board-approved CNA course + Valid on the State of Maine CNA registry EXPERIENCE + 1–3 years previous CNA experience preferred + Will consider new CNAs with relevant work experience OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED + Medical terminology preferred + Strong teamwork and communication skills are required. + The ability to work well within a team of other care providers + Flexibility required to coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days per week + Flexibility to float to other units as needed Covenant Health Mission Statement We are a Catholic health ministry, providing healing and care for the whole person, in service to all in our communities.
