Position Title Certified Nursing Assistant Education Facilitator Department Wrkfc PartWorkforce Dev Position Category Staff NonClassified About CCRI The Community College of Rhode Island is New Englands largest community college and a nationally recognized leader in catalyzing student success and achievement for recent high school graduates and returning adults alike We provide affordable open access to higher education and we deliver on our mission to offer all students the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for intellectual professional and personal growthDiversity is our strength We champion equity and we celebrate support and thrive on the diverse experiences backgrounds and perspectives that are represented across our four campuses We strive to hire and retain culturally competent faculty and staff whose demographics are reflective of our diverse student body To learn more about our employees values and what it means to work here learn about our Guiding Principles here Job Summary The Certified Nursing Assistant Education Facilitator will be an instructor for the CNA program and assist with managing and facilitating all aspects of the Certified Nursing Assistant Program Duties and Responsibilities Commitment to CCRls Mission Demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and mission of a comprehensive community college Work collaboratively with others in a diverse and inclusive environment Work collaboratively in a diverse inclusive and student centered environment with students of various learning styles cultures identities and life experiences Instructional Skills Teaches non credit CNA courses Establishes key objectives for classes Delivering curriculum that accomplishes the course objectives Developing a syllabus that outlines topics that will be explored and listing due dates forassignments and exams Making lesson plans that describe how information will be presented Giving lectures and organizing activities to present material and deepen understanding of coursework Writing administering and grading examinations that test students knowledge Answering students questions and providing support to help them succeed Recording students attendance and grades Performs duties in a marmer that supports and sustains student success Organization Work Management Understands position and works effectively without supervision and accepts responsibility effectively utilizes job related information Sets and maintains daily priorities effectively as well as meaningful measurable short and longterm goals while identifying resources necessary to complete tasks Ability to adapt to changing priorities Decision Making Communicates important information and decisions in a timely manner Ability to anticipate and prevent problems identify existing problems effectively Maintain objectivity and display good judgment in handling problematic situations by analyzing all relevant factors and evaluating alternatives accept responsibility and take initiative to develop sound practical solutions and carry out those solutions in a positive and timely manner Teamwork and Collaboration Understands the importance of and contributes to a positive work environment Exhibit a positive suppottive and cooperative rapport with colleagues to achieve desired results Minimum Requirements Completion of a bachelors degree in nursing Licensed registered nurse Minimum of 5 years experience working in a clinical setting Minimum of two years teaching or training experience working with adult students Teaching or training experience in content specific to nursing Demonstrated ability to adhere to curriculum standards and implement curriculum according to CCRI and external partners standards Knowledge of successful strategies for classroom management Knowledge of nursing lab safety and equipment specific to nursing Proficient in the use of technology including Microsoft Office Suite applications Word Excel and PowerPoint primarily email the internet for instruction and program purposes Competencies and Desired Qualifications Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant current education methodologies and techniques Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive confidential issues Outstanding communication organizational and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with students and colleagues
