Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Hospice IPU provides a central role in the care of the patient and works to enhance quality of life, in addition to assisting with all activities of daily living. The IPU CNA works under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care and support to the patients and their families in the acute care setting. The CNA follows the care plan and communicates any needs or changes to the supervising RN.
Location: The Adler Center - Aldie, VA
Schedule: 3 (12) hour shifts - 7:00pm - 7:00am

ResponsibilitiesUnder the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the IPU CNA provides a central role on the hospice and palliative care teams. Providing personal care for the patient and assisting with activities of daily living, the IPU CNA functions in a supportive role and functions as an extension of professional services while following written instructions under appropriate supervision, and specialized hospice training. May be asked to rotate to other regions/departments.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements
Must have previous and recent experience as a Nursing Assistant, preferably in a hospice, assisted living or hospital setting. Personal care experience is desired.
Education Requirements
Must have a certificate of completion from an approved Nurse Aide training Program. In addition, registration is required by the appropriate Board of Nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Required Certificates and/or Licenses
Must have licensure from the governing body for practice for the District of Columbia, State of Maryland, and/or the Commonwealth of Virginia, based on the state/jurisdiction of practice. Healthcare Provider BLS (CPR) is required to practice in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. A CHPNA certification is a plus.
Driver's License
Must have a driver's license in good standing and access to a vehicle during working hours.
