Certified Oncology Pharmacy Technician Position Summary

Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and do not perform duties that must be legally performed by a licensed pharmacist.

Certified Oncology Pharmacy Technician Position Requirements

Education

High school diploma and one year of college including math or chemistry; this requirement may be waived in the case where the employee has had prior pharmacy experience. Registered by the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of Maryland and must follow all regulations as per those regulations. Certification through accredited National Certification Board.

Experience

Valid driver’s license and verification of insurability under Peninsula Regional Medical Center’s automobile insurance plan. Minimum of one year of sterile preparation experience, with two years of experience preferred. Expertise and mastery of sterile preparation process required.

Certified Oncology Pharmacy Technician Schedule

Day shifts. Works every third weekend. May be required to work beyond the normal schedule.
