As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital link in moving medications throughout the facility to enhance patient care. This team embraces a positive attitude and respects and supports one another to provide the best care possible. **A caregiver in this position works 7:30am - 4:00pm.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding. + Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner. + Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections. + Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training. + Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks. + Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + A high school diploma or GED. + Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. You must be eligible for registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy and register within 6 months of hire. + Ability to communicate with other caregivers and patients in an effective and positive manner. + Demonstration of emotional control and intelligence in managing work relationships. + Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program. + Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
