Certified Pharmacy Technician-Full Time

To ensure the delivery of competent, high quality clinical care in a caring compassionate environment. 

Answers routine questions.   Takes accurate messages.   Operation of telephone.   Handles routine questions on department operations.   Receives complaints and aware of how to initiate protocol.   Demonstrates effective communication skills.   Orientation to hospital campus and ability to provide accurate directions.   Demonstrates written and oral communication skills.   Attentive to details.   Plans, organizes, gathers and assembles data.   Demonstrates knowledge of common formats for correspondence and reports.   Use of department specific equipment.   Accurately opens, sorts, and routes mail.   Monitors inventory and orders supplies.   Completes Inpatient orders accurately and in a timely manner.   Manages inventory well.   Sustains adequate inventory of controlled and non-controlled drugs.   Documents drug transactions accurately.   Demonstrates accountability and responsibility with Pharmacy equipment and software.   Oversees third party reimbursement and coverage for Outpatient prescriptions consistent with insurances, regulatory agencies and hospital policy.   ORGANIZATIONAL EXPECTATIONS   Provides a positive and professional representation of the organization.   Promotes culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and prevention.   Maintains hospital standards for a clean and quiet patient environment to maintain a positive patient care experience.   Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice.   Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.   Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities.   Maintains compliance with organization's policies for handling confidential patient information.   Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential patient information.   Demonstrates excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.   Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, and local requirements, and TJC standards and/or standards from other accrediting bodies.
