TriHealth is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our specialty pharmacy team focused on weight management. This role plays a crucial part in supporting our mission to provide top-tier patient care and improve health outcomes through specialized pharmacy services.

Work Hours:

Full-time, 80 hours bi-weekly Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 4:30 PM No weekends or holidays commitment

Job Overview:

A Pharmacy Solutions Certified Technician III (Fulfillment Technician) is a healthcare professional who plays an integral role in the pharmacy operations. Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the pharmacy technician is responsible for assisting pharmacists in the safe distribution of medications.

The fulfillment technician is responsible for the overall coordination of daily medication and supply orders, patient outreach to schedule refills, shipping of patient medications, and customer service.

Job Requirements:

High School Degree or GED Active National Pharm Tech Cert (CPhT) is required. Approved certs include Pharm Tech Cert Board (PCTB) or ExCPT Cert by the National Healthcareer Association. Active registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced working environment, multi-task and meet deadlines with little supervision Strong data entry and communication skills 1-2 years of experience

Job Responsibilities:

Responds politely and professionally to pharmacist/nursing/physician/patient or other requests via telephone, in writing, or in person. Appropriately manages, triages, and ensures timely follow-up of all requests. Clearly communicates ideas and thoughts in verbal and written formats. Ensures that the pharmaceutical inventory, shipping supplies (boxes, packing material, ice packs), and pharmacy supplies (vials, labels, paper) are adequate to meet the needs of day-to-day operations. Procures medications from wholesalers and manufacturers based on established or projected inventory needs. Procures Specialty Pharmacy medications, selects appropriate packing materials, and packages/labels the medication orders accurately, neatly, and according to established guidelines. Ensures accurate entry of shipping information, tracking, and schedules medication deliveries. Organizes packages for pick-up and ensures they are stored under the proper conditions. Coordinates all facets of pharmaceuticals and supplies ordering, receiving, and proper storage, ensuring that medications are correct and accurate. Follows up on discrepancies. Ensures that medications being dispensed are not expired. Processes and arranges for final disposition of unusable medications and manages recalls immediately upon receipt. Ensures cleanliness and completes all necessary documentation. Ensures that pharmacy operations, visitors, and vendors adhere to regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures. Consistently tracks inventory levels and optimizes inventory with par-level adjustments. Notifies pharmacy leadership when there are medication or supply problems. Ensures workstations are properly stocked with supplies and clean. Processes returns and receives credit for outdated and damaged merchandise in a timely manner. Takes the lead in identifying opportunities and solutions in pharmacy process improvements. Assists in the orientation and training of new hires.
