The Pharmacy Technician Lead Certified Acute Care performs specialized functions necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. Working under limited supervision, this role maintains quality of workflows, regulatory standards, and other complex pharmacy processes.
Maintains pharmacy workflow; including but not limited to compounding hazardous and non-hazardous IV medications, distribution of medication in compliance with current standards or obtaining a complete and accurate medication history based on organization standard.
Serves as a reference for other pharmacy technicians.
Serves as a mentor in the training and orientation of new employees. Leads and implements process improvement and departmental quality initiatives.
Communicates effectively with team members in and outside of pharmacy, providing quality customer service.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 7 years. Successful completion (graduation) of CH accredited technician training program is equivalent to 2 years of experience.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician and advanced technician certification in a specialty area
