QuarterLine, a Planned Systems International (PSI) Company, is currently seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to perform onsite services to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Maine VAHCS. The Nurse Anesthetist staff care shall cover the range of Anesthesiology services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards as established by: American Society of Anesthesiologist (ASA) Guidelines

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities Responsible for providing anesthesia pre-op, operative, and post-op care. Responsible for appropriately documenting all care per Maine VAHCS policy.Direct Patient Care: estimated 95% of the time involved in direct patient care.Available for Oncall and Callback needs.Provide comprehensive clinical anesthesiology services including patients undergoing orthopedic surgery, and major vascular, ENT, urologic, gynecologic, general surgery, colorectal and ophthalmologic operations.Provide primary coverage for all patients in the surgical intensive care, short stay unit, acute and chronic pain management services, diagnostic trans esophageal echocardiography for medical and surgical patients, and emergency airway management.Provide consultative services at the patient’s bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and in the clinic setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic.Follow all established medication policies and procedures.Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all Anesthesiology clinical or surgical patients.Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with committee participation as required by the VA facility Chief of Service, Chief of Staff, or designee.Complete the appropriate QM/PI documentation pertaining to all procedures, complications, and outcome of examinations.Follow all established patient safety and infection control standards of care. Minimum Requirements Board Certified /Board Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).Currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalency.Current, unrestricted state license (any U.S. state, DC, or territory).At least one valid professional reference.Evidence of consistent work history in anesthesia.Technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government’s requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently. VA Business Hours: Regular Weekday Coverage consists of operating room (OR) coverage 6:30am-3:00pm for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Call hours for CRNA’s are 3:00pm-12:00am and 12:00am-6:30am.

 

Off-hours Coverage: Contractor must make the contracted provider available on-call during all hours when the facility clinic is closed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

On-call contracted provider must be available for emergency airway management and emergent OR cases.On-call contracted provider must be available within 15 minutes by phone and on-site, within 30 minutes. Company Benefits
