Overview

As a Scrub tech, you will be assisting the physician and surgical team in performing surgery and preparing the operating room and arranges equipment in order to assist the surgeon during medical procedures. 

Responsibilities Prepares operating room for surgery, including gathering equipment and supplies, ensuring operating room is in working order and sterilized for surgeryAssists with washing, shaving and disinfecting of the surgical siteSets up and maintains the sterile field maintaining sterile technique at all timesAssists with draping, sponging, retracting, passing sterile instruments and sterile supplies to the surgeon, cut sutures, and perform other duties as requested by the surgeonSupports the surgeon by anticipating needs and have all necessary equipment and instruments availableAssists in the care or disposal of specimens and wound dressingHelps with the transfer of the patient to and from the operating roomSupports the front desk with answering phones, pulling charts, and other clerical tasks as needed

This role does have travel associated in the role - Las Cruces & El Paso travel. 

Qualifications

 

• Bilingual in Spanish

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program
• CST Certification required
• Experience working in a surgical environment; Ophthalmology experience is a plus
• Detail oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexible schedule Monday-Friday
• Travel to other locations may be required- travel time and mileage are paid benefits!
