General Summary:

In collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, provides therapeutic services including evaluation, treatment, and education. Supervisory responsibilities: After one year of experience, may act as student supervisor. Directs assignments to Rehab aides.

Essential Functions: Completes evaluations of assigned patients in accordance with the established standards of care and practice. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to ensure evaluations are performed safely and accurately. (i.e. utilized Physical Therapy for identifying the best mode of moving a patient). Short- and long-term goals are realistic, measurable, and address functional needs. Goals are written upon completion of evaluation per department standards and guidelines. Independently selects and performs therapeutic techniques that are consistent with the patient's problems and medical status and reflect an integration of the therapist's clinical knowledge and theory. Demonstrates knowledge about equipment/materials utilized in patient care per supervisor's observation and chart documentation. Provides for patient/family educational needs. Therapist adheres to all procedures and documentation standards per rehabilitation area/department. Is responsible to work within the guidelines and authorizations provided by the individual's insurance coverage, and/or Medicare guidelines. Demonstrates good time management as evidenced by completing work assignments on time, consistently striving to be a productive member of the institution and putting time to good use and demonstrates willingness to provide coverage in other rehabilitation areas.
