Job Description
The Surgical Technologist supports the surgeon and operative team to ensure a safe and effective surgical environment. The role operates under the supervision of a registered nurse and adheres to the hospital's Code of Conduct.
ResponsibilitiesAssisting the surgeon during procedures.Maintaining a sterile environment and following safety protocols.Caring for surgical instruments and equipment.Participating in quality improvement activities.Responding to emergencies promptly.Collaborating with healthcare providers for optimal outcomes.Evaluating and adhering to professional standards and regulations.Protecting privacy and reporting concerns as needed.Essential SkillsAseptic techniqueSurgical instrumentationLaboratory preppingDisassembling and sterilizationPatient safetyAdditional Skills & QualificationsGraduate from an accredited Associate degree surgical technologist programCertified Surgical Technologist (CST) through governing body, i.e., National Board Surgical Technologists (NBST), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); or obtained within 12 months of hireCurrent BLS certification1 year previous Surgical Technologist experience preferred. Willing to consider entry level.Work Environment
Working on-site in a surgical center at either Maple Grove or Robbinsdale hospital.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $74500.00 - $96075.00
