Certified Surgical Technologist I

 

Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures. Follows hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patient during pre-operation procedures


Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body and medical equipment
Works primarily in one specialty
Typically reports to a registered nurse
Performs other related duties as assigned
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

  PRN (As Needed) - Variable Shift     

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:


Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or 2 years’ experience in an operating room as a Surgical Scrub Tech and/or LPN or military training required
Previous Operating Room experience preferred
Surgical Technician Certification (CST) required
BLS Required.  Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KMC BLS within 60 days of hire

   

Working Conditions:


Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs
Must be able to maintain a standing position
Typical equipment used in a clinical job
Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend
