VCA Civano Animal Hospital and Emergency Center is proud to offer advanced veterinary care to the growing Tucson community. Our hospital is open seven days a week and provides 24/7 urgent and emergency care. In addition to dogs and cats, we see a variety of other pets such as horses, pigs, and other small farm animals, birds, rabbits, chinchillas, amphibians, reptiles, and more.
We are seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician with experience in a fast-paced emergency setting. The hourly rate starts between $20.00 and $25.00 per hour + shift differential and is negotiable based on your experience in the veterinary industry.
This position is overnight. Hours range from 5p-7a.
As a member of the VCA Civano Animal Hospital and Emergency Center, you will assist your assigned Doctor and provide the maximum level of care 24/7 to incoming critical and non-critical emergencies.
Technicians will utilize an array of advanced skills including, but not limited to:
Triaging and stabilizing incoming emergenciesAdvance anesthesia monitoring experience and patient recoveryProvide nursing care to both stable and critical patientsPerforming patient assessments and physical examinationsProviding timely treatment to outpatientsPerforming laboratory work and diagnostic imaginingVenipuncture/catheter placementSafe animal restraint and handlingStrong multi-tasking skillsPharmacySurgical preparation and assistingEffective verbal, listening, and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively with team members of all hospital servicesAs a member of the VCA family, eligible full-time employees will be rewarded with a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including:
