Raba Kistner is seeking an organized, dependable Certified Welding Inspector to join our team in Austin, TX. Responsible for inspections of structural steel, carbon steel piping fit-up, and welding. Other responsibilities include: 

Serve as consultant in area of expertise (structural steel, pipeline, pressure vessel, and reinforcing steel).Provide scope of work with cost estimates for potential projects/clients.Prepare steel reports and other client required letters using R-K format.Provide technical expertise to CoMET Services.Prepare cost analysis and project invoices within a specified deadline after the field, laboratory, and reporting work is completed.Maintain close contact with all clients during the entire duration of projects.Develop and build business by attracting clients and maintaining existing clients.Prepare proposals.Notify Leader of potential group involvement in legal matters.Work with legal counsel as required and directed.Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 5 years steel inspection/welding experience. Must be certified by the American Welding Society as a Certified Welding Inspector (AWS QC1).Possess a valid driver’s license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet company’s auto insurability requirements.

Organizational skills to utilize company resources efficiently and effectively. Management skills to supervise project teams and evaluate progress of projects. Good oral and written communications skills and ability to work with clients and staff within the organization. Basic Microsoft Office Suite(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Must be self-motivated with good attendance record and be able to work independently. Able to drive company vehicle, manage and complete all assigned jobs efficiently and on time.

Regularly work near moving mechanical parts (spinning shafts, engines, lifts, etc.), work in high, precarious places (tall structures, bucket lifts, extension ladders, etc.), fumes or airborne particles (painting, sanding, solvents, flying lint or dust particles, etc.), outdoor weather conditions (exposure to outdoor heat, cold or inclement weather), wet or humid conditions (not weather-related, such as greenhouse, carwash, etc.), extreme heat (not weather-related, such as furnace, kitchen, ovens, etc. where temperature is regularly above 100 degrees f), risk of radiation (x-ray equipment, nuclear radiation, electromagnetic radiation, etc.), and vibration (jackhammer, soil compactor, equipment that creates high vibration, etc.). Occasionally work with toxic or caustic chemicals (including potential for chemical spills, etc.), and work with explosives (TNT, dynamite, nitroglycerine, or other related explosives). Frequent risk of electrical shock (live electrical wires, equipment that retains power after shutoff). The noise level for this position is Loud (metal can manufacturing department, large equipment, etc.)

This position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs.
