They are seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead, foster growth, and manage the financial performance of their business. Job Summary: As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will serve as a critical member of the executive leadership team, overseeing all aspects of financial management, growth strategies, and compliance. With a deep understanding of the insurance industry, you will drive financial excellence while ensuring the organization adheres to statutory accounting principles, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and insurance-specific regulations. Your expertise will empower the company to achieve both short- and long-term objectives in a competitive industry. Key Responsibilities: + Provide leadership and oversight of all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, reporting, and strategic planning. + Ensure compliance with statutory accounting principles (SAP) and GAAP, as well as regulatory requirements specific to the insurance industry. + Manage relationships with external auditors, state insurance regulators, and financial institutions. + Direct capital planning, investment strategies, and risk management to optimize financial resources. + Collaborate across departments to evaluate operational efficiencies and recommend improvements that align with organizational goals. + Oversee the preparation of statutory financial statements, including NAIC statements and other relevant reporting. + Deliver clear, data-driven presentations to the executive team, board members, and stakeholders to drive informed decision-making. + Stay abreast of changes in industry regulations, legislation, and standards, advising the company on risk and compliance matters. + Mentor and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred. + 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably within the insurance industry. + Strong knowledge of statutory accounting principles (SAP), GAAP, and insurance regulatory requirements. + Proven track record in developing and executing financial strategies that contribute to substantial organizational growth. + Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights. + Hands-on leadership style with demonstrated success in building and managing high-performing teams. + Advanced proficiency with financial systems and tools, including ERP platforms and insurance-specific financial applications.
