Responsibilities

Mayo Clinic is searching for an innovative leader to serve as the Chair of its world class Department of Transplantation at our academic medical center in Jacksonville, Florida.  

The Department Chair is a leadership position and the individual selected will be accountable for driving innovation through cutting edge procedures, capitalizing on technology, advancing progressive research, and educating the next generation of physicians. They will be responsible for achieving exceptional patient outcomes, financial and growth objectives in addition to actively recruiting and retaining top talent to advance Mayo’s mission.  

The Department of Transplantation at Mayo Clinic in Florida is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary solid organ Transplant Center (performing over 500 solid organ transplants per year) located in Jacksonville, FL. The campus offers heart, lung, liver, kidney, and pancreas transplant services. It is part of the Mayo Foundation integrated Transplant program which encompasses solid organ transplant and BMT on all Mayo Clinic campuses — Jacksonville, Fla., Scottsdale, Ariz., and Rochester, Minn. — which together share common protocols and databases. This gives the Mayo Clinic Transplant Centers a broad geographic reach, enabling it to serve diverse patient populations and enabling it to have the largest Transplant program in the world. The campuses are also home to outstanding, internationally recognized physicians and scientists.

Board certification in relevant area and eligibility for Florida licensure required  Academic rank of Professor   Evidence of continued academic and scholarly activity  Proven successful leader  Strong understanding of transplantation practice  On-going transformational practice innovation  Ability to build relationships and networks globally  Recognized as an expert in their field
