EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Assist the Program Leader in the planning and implementing of Discovery and Wilderness camp challenge courses for electives, free-time and cabin activities. Help create an environment that leads groups to success. Know the type of group, and the specific needs, of the group you’re working with Maintain open, friendly, and professional relationships with participants. Maintain an attitude of fun and excitement. Use encouragement and positive reinforcement in all situations. Assist the Program Leader in leading games initiatives and elements for groups ranging from 8 to 20 campers. At the direction of the Program Leader, clearly communicate the instructions for each game, initiative, and element in a fun and creative manner. Work with the Program Leader to have all equipment and props prepared before the campers’ arrival. Ensure the safety of campers and staff. Assist the Program Leader in briefing and debriefing sessions with each group. Participate in safety training. Follow all safety procedures and standards. Assist Program Leader in communicating all safety procedures and standards to participants for each activity. Be aware of any medical/physical conditions or special needs of the campers. Fill out all necessary paperwork as instructed by Program Leader Fill out Pre-use inspections, course evaluations, rope and equipment logs, incident report forms, and maintenance forms. Assist the Program Leader in performing inventory of challenge course program equipment and supplies at the start and finish of the summer and each week. Assist the Program Leader in completing any necessary course or grounds maintenance as necessary to maintain a safe and aesthetic course as assigned by the Camp Director Give support to the total camping program performing and all other duties required to provide a consistently excellent program. Attend and participate in evening programs and chapel activities. Enforce camp policies and procedures.GENERAL DUTIES:
Exhibit effective Christ-like conduct and service as an appropriate example for campers and Give support to the total camping program performing all other duties required to provide a consistently excellent program. Attend and participate in all camp programs as required including, but not limited to evening programs, chapel activities and staff meetings. Follow all policies and procedures. Maintain cleanliness and order in your person and living quarters. Assist with cleanup of the total camp at the end of teach session and at the conclusion of the summer.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Grasp, push, pull objects, and reach overhead. Operate telephone and computer. Lift up to 25 lbs. Understand verbal and written information. Sweep, clean and perform other janitorial tasks as needed.Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. Parental Leave: The benefit is 40 hours of Paid Leave for qualifying events.
Sick Leave: 12 days of Sick Leave annually accruing from day one, eligible for use after three months’ service time.
Paid Vacation:
Two weeks annually, accruing from day one, for non-exempt positions. Four weeks annually, accruing from day one, for exempt positions. Accrued vacation is eligible for use after six months’ service time.Paid Holidays: 13 designated holidays + 1 floating holiday per year
