Your role @ Chanel :
As the Fragrance and Beauty Director for Chanel in Canada, your mission is to drive sustainable, profitable growth while protecting and elevating the brand’s equity and delivering exceptional omnichannel client experiences. This entrepreneurial role positions you at the helm of a dynamic and multicultural market with significant growth potential, tasked with adapting global strategies to Canada’s unique opportunities and challenges.
Your leadership will integrate the brand’s commitment to sustainability, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring the highest standards of environmental stewardship and fostering a culture of transparency, collaboration, and personal growth across the team.
What impact you can create at Chanel :
Business Leadership
• Define and implement the F&B strategy for Canada, tailored to the specificities of the market and aligned with global objectives;
• Drive resources to maximise impact in seamless, omnichannel client journeys, across the selected 500+ fragrance & beauty doors, standalone boutique, and the chanel.com e-commerce platform.
• Build governance frameworks and financial models to ensure sustainable growth and long-term brand equity;
• Develop strong relationships with trade partners, leveraging negotiation skills to drive mutually beneficial outcomes;
• Expand the brand’s presence through new partnerships and optimisation of the existing distribution network while maintaining the selective distribution strategy;
• Drive operational excellence and financial performance through meticulous P&L management and resource allocation.
Brand Stewardship
• Ensure all initiatives protect and enhance the brand’s equity, blending heritage with modernity to maintain leadership in the luxury fragrance and beauty sector;
• Work closely with global and regional teams (Paris and UK) to implement the international F&B strategy, ensuring alignment with local relevance;
• Drive flawless and sustainable execution of marketing strategies, new builds, and refurbishments in accordance with global standards;
• Lead competitive intelligence efforts to identify trends, competitor activities, and new opportunities, ensuring the brand remains at the forefront of the market.
People Leadership
• Provide collaborative leadership for all boutiques, points of sale, and the standalone boutique in Canada, encompassing wholesale, retail, and concessions;
• Oversee the F&B team across various divisions, including Sales, Marketing, Visual Merchandising (VM), Training, CRM, E-Commerce, and Logistics;
• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous learning to build future capabilities for the team;
• Attract, develop, and retain top talent in competitive markets, ensuring best practices in learning, leadership development, and performance management;
• Empower the team with empathy and generosity, inspiring them to excel and achieve their potential;
• Set clear objectives, KPIs, and priorities for the team, creating a collaborative environment that champions operational excellence and client-centricity.
Sustainability and Innovation
• Integrate environmental responsibility into all aspects of the division’s operations, championing carbon reduction and low-impact practices;
• Lead the evolution of business processes and initiatives to align with the brand’s commitment to sustainability, diversity, and inclusion.
What you will bring to the role:
Experience & Knowledge:
• Proven leadership experience (10+ years), ideally in a fast-paced premium/luxury environment or FMCG, with a deep understanding of retail, omnichannel, and wholesale landscapes;
• Strong strategic and analytical thinker with business acumen, marketing expertise, digital savviness, and negotiation capabilities with trade partners;
• Experience building and nurturing relationships with key partners and senior stakeholders;
• Bilingualism is an asset to communicate with customers and collaborators across Canada (French and English, both spoken and written).
