Role Overview:

A Digital Change and Communications Consultant plays a pivotal role in guiding the firm through digital transitions and transformations. They are responsible for crafting and implementing change management strategies, ensuring clear and effective communication, managing change networks, and providing training to support new initiatives. Additionally, they facilitate the pipeline and alignment of messaging with Africa Tech’s strategic goals. This role is essential in maintaining efficiency and morale during periods of change.

Key Responsibilities: 

Change Management and Communications: Develop a communication plan for change initiatives for Africa Tech (pipeline of atleast the next 6 months) creating engaging content and executing communication campaigns to facilitate change across the firm. Work closely with the Product Management Team to ensure that change plans are in sync with product roadmaps and user requirements. 

Training and Development: Provide / update training materials and learner pathways with content to encourage continuous learning (Digital Academies) and manage onboarding presentations for new joiners, e.g., AI, MS migration, NextGen Audit in future, etc. 

Data Analysis and Reporting: Track if comms is landing to the business, measure success of comms and determine how Africa Tech can improve this based on stats. These specialists are to support the Team Lead, Adoption Specialists and Product Managers to report on adoption rates and monitor post-adoption rates for further change and comms planning. 

Content Curation and Communication: Produce newsletters where applicable. Lead comms for digital upskilling. Maintain digital sites i.e. MS SPO Site, Africa Tech Internal Hub, Africa Digital & Tech site. 

Technical Support and Guidance: Offer consulting / support to Africa Tech teams on the level of change and comms required for specific initiatives. 

Provide services to business teams: Guide the creation and implementation of change plans that maximize employee engagement and adoption. Offer consulting services to business teams by managing the human side of change, ensuring that employees are well-informed and prepared for new processes and technologies (through demands).   

Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree / diploma in a related field such as communications, business, psychology, or human resources 

Certifications in change management methodologies like Prosci or similar is advantageous 

A qualification / certification in learning / training / personnel development will be beneficial 

Desired Skills and Experience: 

Relevant experience in change management, communications, or a similar role 

Experience in media will be advantageous to assist with content creation 

Skills in project management and managing deadlines  

Excellent communication skills to convey complex information clearly to stakeholders 

Proficiency in communication tools and change management methodologies are essential i.e., ADKAR  

Basic knowledge of design tools for creating visually appealing content is beneficial 

The ability to learn and grow, especially in a dynamic field like technology 

Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across various levels of the firm 

 

Financial: 

Contribute to the compilation of costs for change initiatives and work with team lead to include in Africa Tech’s budget where necessary
