Job Description

Osler is driven by a strategic vision to go beyond for our people and communities. As part of this commitment, we are embarking on an exciting digital transformation to implement a new, modernized hospital information system (HIS). Our dedicated HIS team will collaborate closely with our trusted HIS vendor (Epic) and internal subject matter experts to develop a fully functional system that will empower us to deliver exceptional care and services.

Reporting to the Director, HIS Analytics, Digital Transformation and Training, the Change Management Lead provides strategic direction and expert advice on change management to senior leadership and project teams regarding the implementation of Osler’s new HIS. The role is accountable for gathering, assessing and interpreting complex information to assess organizational impact and readiness for change as well as develop and integrate comprehensive change management into project plans. We are looking for an experienced change management practitioner who can think strategically to create and implement critical change management strategy to prepare, equip and support all Osler team members to effectively utilize this new technology solution that will ultimately enhance the patient experience. As the subject matter expert on change, this role works at an organizational level with leadership teams, external consultants, partners and vendors to ensure change management is executed throughout the project to ensure user adoption for the HIS implementation and organizational transformation.

Accountabilities:

Provides strategic change management advice to senior leadership overseeing the planning and implementation of Osler’s new HISBuilds plans to ensure change leadership is active and visible throughout the project ensuring all impacted staff understand why the change is critical to organizational successReviews and advises on the integration of change management tactics into the project planning and engagement strategies alongside the identified project teamProvide expert advice and support to the project team on advancing project outcomes and support senior leadership in their role as change championsGather, assess, and interpret complex information to clearly understand organizational impact and readiness for the change as well as develop and integrate comprehensive change management activities into project plansIdentifies key data points for monitoring and tracking readiness for change as the project moves through planning to implementationIdentifies and monitors indicators and metrics to ensure change success is evaluated and sustainedLeverages change management leading practices to plan key tactics to ready the organization for the HIS implementationDevelop and integrate comprehensive change management activities into project plans to ensure all impacted parties are prepared and equipped to adopt the changeProactively identify risks to successful change adoption within project and work collaboratively to develop and implement appropriate responses that help maximize employee change adoption and minimize resistanceWork closely with senior leadership and cross-departmental project teams to develop, plan and execute change management activities that enable impacted parties at all levels ensuring they are properly equipped to initiate and sustain the changes that stem from transformational projectsConduct and coordinate the activities required in the change management plan, including key partner engagement, communication, training, knowledge transfer and various forms of learning and educationOversee, monitor and measure the execution and effectiveness of change management efforts through data gathering and measurement to provide analysis on their effectiveness for executive management and project team considerationEnsure continuity and integration of change management approaches across other significant transformational projects to ensure realization of value and consistencyDevelop corrective actions that address issues in sustainability of change effortsCollaborates on various corporate and divisional teams with a focus on enhancing the readiness and adoption of changePartner with key organizational change management experts including Human Resources, Communications and Information Services to ensure alignment with organizational change management processes, roles and organizational communications and standardsEngage organizational leadership teams to understand needs, readiness and competency for change management and support them to develop the skills necessary to lead the change among their teamsFacilitate key discussions to understand and build readiness for changeWorking in a Matrix reporting environment this role will be responsible for planning and directing the tasks of a team of professionals from across the organization including trainers, communications and other project resourcesIn collaboration with vendor resources this role will lead key project resources through the development and implementation of a comprehensive change management plan for the HIS implementationLeveraging the HIS governance structure and established committees and working groups this role will be critical in advising on key change strategies while being cognizant of the assigned budget and resourcesWorking with project teams the change lead will be critical in analyzing project issues and planning to overcome themInterprets, advises or provides other supporting services for use by others in achieving results – i.e. providing advice and counsel, where decisions are likely to be made by virtue of that advice/counselConducts regular change assessments to guide senior leadership decision-making regarding project activitiesLeverages regular analytics, alongside the project team, to develop plans that proactively integrate change management into project plansDevelop the change strategy and approach to support the implementation of the HIS and enable the organizational transformation that will enable the achievement of the desired outcomesPresent relevant data and perspectives to influence leadership project decision making including timing, project activities, leadership engagement and resistance management

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related discipline.
• A relevant Change Management certification, preferred (e.g., Prosci, CCMP, etc.)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience applying, modifying, and developing change management strategies for large scale projects  
• Minimum of 5 years of experience leading change management for complex transformational projects
• Experience working on healthcare technology implementations is and asset.
• Experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.
• Relevant post-secondary education combined with a minimum of 5 years’ experience applying, modifying, and developing change management approaches for large scale projects. 
• Professional Change Management Certification is required (i.e., CCMP, Prosci, etc.)
• Experience leveraging the Prosci methodology and leveraging the ADKAR model to support the development of change management strategies and tactical plans.
• Demonstrated skill in applying project management methodologies; at least 3 years’ experience leading projects; certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is an asset.
• Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment and leveraging expertise from a cross function team of key partners.
• Expert knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and change processes
• Ability to think and plan strategically as well as manage conflicting demands, urgent tasks, and changing priorities. 
• Ability to analyze various forms of data, synthesize information to anticipate future trends/consequences and create innovative and flexible plans.
• Strong leadership skills and an ability to work with an executive leadership to provide change management advice. 
• Ability to communicate and display a high level of professionalism in-person, verbally and in written formats.
• Advanced ability to negotiate and engage in sensitive communications internal to the organization and with external partners.
• Advanced ability to deliver and adjust communications according to the audience (i.e., senior staff, public, stakeholders etc.)
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in working in a Matrix reporting environment and balancing competing priorities of multiple impacted parties and key partners.

Additional Information

Hours: Currently Days (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Salary Range: $96,681.00 - $120,841.50
