Job Summary:

Broadcom Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Change Management Specialist with additional Technical Writer and Editor experience to join our team. The position entails tracking and implementing change requests for documentation that supports our division. The ideal candidate will possess skills in excellent communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, working collaboratively with various stakeholders, writing, and editing. This job is an in-office support position. It is not a remote job. This job is divided between the two roles: 75% in Change Management, 25% in Technical Writing.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Change Management Specialist:

Comply with all documented procedures and policies to meet ISO 9001 document control requirements.

Support the organization through the process of creating and submitting permanent implementation orders.

Review incoming permanent change orders for accuracy and completeness. Complete and post permanent change implementation orders.

Verify approvals for permanent document change orders and communicate with requestors, document owners, and stakeholders as needed.

Document permanent change order closure activities per standard operating procedures.

Update and structure web pages and links for change orders to provide end user access to controlled documents.

For newly released documents, create new certification titles and functional area associations in the training database; set prerequisites and equivalencies according to department processes.

At manufacturing release, link the new tool or equipment to the associated operating procedure in the training database to enforce required certifications and tool lockout.

Perform document archival and record retention.

Ensure document control integrity with document revision history content, proper approval workflow routing, and metadata application.

Perform other related duties as assigned, including a backup support role for team members as assigned.

Multi-task and execute projects in a timely manner based on business priorities and schedules with varying interruptions.

Technical Writing/Editing:

The technical writer/editor performs as an individual contributor to create, develop, plan, write, edit, verify, and deliver technical documentation to meet end user requirements. Documentation work includes hardware and software documentation, engineering process knowledge, equipment and facilities installation procedures, equipment operating and maintenance procedures, and various levels of business process documentation associated with the Quality Management System. Assignments are complex in nature and require judgment, initiative, and technical/specialized knowledge to research and relay the technical aspects of processes, technologies, and equipment operation.

Champion documentation programs to develop, lead, and support technical writing.

Demonstrate expertise in technical writing to improve the quality of assigned documents. Adhere to established style conventions to ensure a consistent design for documentation across all applications.

Modify and prepare assigned documentation prior to publication, checking for readability, style, and alignment with ISO 9001 document control requirements and corporate policies and guidelines to make it easier for readers to understand.

Follow the established technical documentation process, adhere to content and quality standards, and comply with templates and style guidelines. Perform coaching to others on industry standard writing styles and formatting protocols.

Participate in peer reviews for own and other's work. Able to give and accept constructive feedback from team members and peers.

Identify and establish rapport with content subject matter experts for assigned project work. Coordinate and conduct interviews with users and subject matter experts throughout the organization to gather data for revision of existing documentation.

Explain scientific and technical ideas in simple language; write clear and concise processes and procedures, ensuring usability for the identified audience. Use topic writing as a guiding content structure to improve document usability.

Writing project work, which may include equipment operating and maintenance procedures, business process documentation, software documentation, engineering process documentation, and equipment and facilities installation procedures.

Participate in project planning and provide execution status throughout the course of project work.

Strong writing and proofreading skills specifically focusing on errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

Understand the relationships between all change management tools and processes.

Provide the highest level of quality and follow-through for all work performed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to learn complex concepts quickly and explain them with clarity and technical accuracy.

Ability to establish rapport and working relationships with a variety of personalities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong knowledge of technical writing fundamentals, industry standard writing styles, and content organization.

Strong logical reasoning and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity. Strong technical writing and communication skills are required.

Demonstrated knowledge of technical writing fundamentals, industry standard writing styles, and content organization. Detail-oriented with a high sense of responsibility for outcomes.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and cooperatively with others under little or no direct supervision.

Ability to maintain focus on 100% accuracy while experiencing frequent interruptions. Ability to remain calmly focused and persistent under pressure.

Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask; highly flexible and able to prioritize tasks in the context of frequently changing business-critical needs. Highly dependable and flexible regarding work hours and critical coverage.

Committed to enforcing business process rules and strictly following all documented policies and procedures. Working knowledge of ISO 9001 is a plus.

Knowledge and experience working with change management processes, document control applications, and document approval requirements.

Adept with Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.

Three or more years of experience working in change management, including experience working with technical writing software, video software, graphics software, flowcharting software, etc.

Experience designing complex documents and documentation sets, information design, and structured authoring.

B.A./B.S. in a Technical Discipline and/or English /Technical Communications or 4 years equivalent in a related field and 5+ years related work experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of technical terms related to IC Fabrication processes, semiconductor manufacturing, and equipment.

Experience with Product Lifecycle Management, Document Control and/or Business Process Management methodologies and software.

M.A./M.S. in a Technical Discipline and English or Technical Communications.

SCREENING

A technical writing exam or submission of a technical writing sample may be required as a part of the interview process.

This opportunity is an in-office support position.

Must have authorization to work within the U.S.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $71,000 - $113,000.

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
