**Job Description** **Position Title:** Changehouse Attendant **OPEN UNTIL FILLED** **Department/Location:** Human Resources/Beulah, ND **Company:** Dakota Gasification Company **Position Purpose:** This position provides changehouse services including in-house laundry function, sign making, maintenance of the Fitness Center and Changehouse and contracted services monitoring. **Essential Functions:** + Manage company protective fire retardant (FR) clothing such as coveralls, winter coats, jackets, bibs, fire coats, lab coats, in addition to towels, and other materials valued over 750K. + Maintain inventory control of company issued clothing; and inform supervision of inventory replacement needs. + This position is responsible for embroidering new, and repairing/replacing damaged embroidery for over 4000 pieces of company protective FR clothing for employees, including coveralls, sweatshirts, coats, bibs, and hats as needed. + Manage the approximately 1300 lockers within the changehouse maintaining an inventory of locker assignments and keys. + Repair/stitch FR clothing when damaged and manage vendor when clothing is sent to outside vendor for repairs/alterations. + Sort, launder, and store company clothing and accessories. This position launders approximately 400 coveralls and 450 towels per day. Daily volume increases during turnarounds and winter months. + Operate and maintain large commercial washing and drying equipment; EP 2000 135 lb. washers and Milnor 110 lb. dryers, including writing maintenance work orders as needed and perform preventative maintenance inspections on the units. + Manage overtime meal program with an annual budget of $4000. This includes stocking overtime meals and pop in the overtime meal fridge/freezer and ordering meals from outside vendor as needed. Distribute overtime meals to employees as needed. + Engrave and manufacture plastic tags, signs, decals, and nameplates for Basin Electric including the power plants, headquarters, and subsidiaries. Approximately 400 signs per month are billed out. + Procure and receive laundry supplies, sign material, and shower supplies as needed from the warehouse and prepare safety shower kits when requested. + Sweep, mop, and clean the changehouse facility and fitness center when cleaning services are not provided by contracted cleaning services. + Ensures employee satisfaction by maintaining good housekeeping standards inside and outside the changehouse and fitness center. This includes sidewalk area, storage areas, laundry room, restrooms, shower rooms, and locker areas. The changehouse has an estimated amount of foot traffic of about 300 people per day. + Operate and maintain the engraving, embroidery, and sewing machines and related parts. + Remove snow and sand sidewalks in front of Changehouse and Fitness Center during the winter months. **Qualifications:** + High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED). Able to read, write, perform arithmetic, comprehend, and follow written instructions. + Able to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers. + Able and willingness to learn safe, efficient work and equipment operating practices and procedures through classroom and/or on-the-job training. + Able to adjust priorities, and ensure services provided are available on a timely basis, especially at times of high demand, to ensure personnel have the necessary safety clothing. + Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as basic proficiency with personal computers. + A valid driver’s license. + Resume required. + The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed in this job.
