The NCR Banking Professional Services Team is responsible for planning, defining and delivering projects across a variety of different NCR Banking software solutions.  Our projects are unique for every type of project depending on the customer and engagement type: solution designs, implementations, deployments, upgrades, training and consulting.   

The Channel Services Platforms – Technical Implementation Consultant is part of a team of associates involved in customer facing engagements (projects) involving NCR’s Payment Technology Solutions.  NCR’s solutions are installed in multi-server environments and can be multi-platform (multiple operating systems and combination of multiple server types).  As a Technical Implementation Consultant, you will be required to perform all technical activities associated with integrating the different hardware and software components into a single working solution for our Financial Industry customers.  You will receive on the job training from senior level Implementation Consultants.  

For new installations, this includes the following activities: 

Consulting with customers to determine the best approach for integrating NCR solutions with other third party applications, including Kubernetes, Microsoft SQL, virtualized servers running Microsoft Windows Server or Linux operating systems and utilizing various virtualization tools Support testing operations in the NCR lab before installing in a customer environment Installing operating systems within virtualized environments and configuring each environment to ensure proper performance of the applications installed within each virtualized environment; Installing, configuring and integrating all software (see list provided earlier, including NCR’s solution software). Troubleshooting of integration and performance issues to isolate the area of concern and guide engineering in acceptable solutions Training the customer’s system administrators on technical aspects of the solution, and supporting the customer during the execution of their test plans, as well as the early production periods to ensure that all systems are functioning properly Documenting the customer’s system configuration to ensure the customer and NCR’s Software Support Services team has the information needed for long term support. 

For existing systems, the Implementation Consultant would be involved in: 

Defining and executing the proper technical implementation plan associated with expanding the system for additional volumes, adding new application components, and upgrading or replacing existing hardware/software components.  Since these systems are used within production, careful planning and coordination of any required system downtime is a must.   The Implementation Consultant is responsible for documenting the plan, receiving customer approvals, and executing the plan to completion.  All changes made to the customer’s hardware/software configuration must be documented and provided to the customer and NCR’s Software Support Services team for long term support. 

The Implementation Consultant will be directly accountable for customer satisfaction as it relates to the delivery aspects of assigned projects.  The ability to properly communicate and set customer expectations, deliver on commitments, and manage through multiple high-priority issues simultaneously is critical. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS  

A Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Discipline or equivalent work experienceMust be able to travel up to 25% throughout the US and CanadaMust have 2 – 3 years of software installation and debugging experienceThe ability to effectively conduct presentations, both in person, and over streaming sessions like WebExStrong business level communication, both written and oral, to be able to communicate with clients with professionalism and clarityA high standard of integrity and ethics to be able to work in financial services technology with sensitive dataDesire to seek out and take internal and external training and certifications in listed “Preferred Qualifications”The ability to be a self-starterThe ability to debug problems and solve technical challengesThe incumbent must be able to work with a geographically dispersed team, handle periods of high pressure, and managed multiple high priority tasks while meeting customer expectations. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

Exposure to or working knowledge of any or all of the following: 

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline Knowledge of Https servers (Apache, IIS, others, certificates and keystores) Experience with SQL databasesExperience with LINUX and/or Microsoft Windows Server operating systemsKnowledge of networking (TCP/IP, ethernet, load balancers, proxy servers)Single Sign On technology (SAML and others)Experience with Apache TomcatVirtualization like VMWareApplications deployed in the cloud, like Microsoft Azure or Amazon EC2Experience with Containerization like Docker containers, and container orchestration like Kubernetes
