Position Summary

As a curious Chaos Engineering Intern you will join the IBS Cloud Excellence Center in Prague.  As an intern you will help enhance system reliability and resilience by simulating and analyzing real-world failures. You’ll work closely with our engineering teams to design, execute, and analyze experiments that uncover weaknesses in our systems before they impact our users.

Key Responsibilities

Learn and Apply Chaos Engineering Principles

Understand the foundational principles of Chaos Engineering, including its focus on proactive failure injection and system resilience.Familiarize yourself with tools and frameworks to simulate real-world failures in a controlled environment.

Design and Execute Experiments

Collaborate with engineers to design chaos experiments that test system behavior under failure scenarios.Execute experiments with a focus on minimizing risks and ensuring controlled outcomes.

Analyze and Document Findings

Monitor system performance during and after experiments to identify potential weaknesses or bottlenecks.Document experiment findings and propose actionable recommendations to improve system resilience.

Promote Reliability and Resilience

Assist in implementing processes and automation to integrate chaos engineering into CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications:

Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.Technical Skills:Basic understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud infrastructure.Proficiency in at least one programming language.Familiarity with monitoring tools and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.Soft Skills:Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Good communication abilities.Curiosity and a willingness to learn and experiment.Team spirit!Other:English Level C1 or above on the CEFRAnother language of the European Union B2 or above
