Job Purpose/Summary:
Tyson Chaplains provide compassionate, spiritual care that explores Team Members’ diverse belief and value systems, honors their experiences, and empowers them with resources to enhance function and well-being.
This would be for 1st Shift, however, ALL Shifts served by the Chaplain – Flexibility needed to support 1st/2nd/3rd Shift Team Members, although the Salary rate is based on experience, this role does offer, 3 weeks Vacation, a 7% Annual Incentive Plan & about a 3.50% Annual Salary Review, with great benefits, Medical/Vision/Dental available upon day 1 (no waiting period) & a chance to join a great TEAM!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide spiritual and emotional guidance to Team Members and their immediate families while respecting people's unique beliefs, values, and experiences.
Maintain a judgment-free presence, inclusive of all faiths, sexual orientations, and ethnicities.
Counsel distressed and bereaved individuals and families while providing helpful strategies for understanding and healing.
Respond to critical incident situations where Team Members or their families have been traumatized.
Maintain confidentiality in all chaplain conversations except for those that reveal risk of injury to self, others, or the business.
Collaborate with HR leadership and the chaplain services’ team to offer educational and social service opportunities that help stabilize Team Members’ personal lives.
Make hospital and home visits to Team Members and immediate family members.
Provide appropriate chaplain presence at memorials and/or funerals of Team Members
Cultivate and maintain a network of referral resources through community partnerships and service providers that can assist in serving the various needs of Team Members
Write articles and/or provide presentations consistent with personal education, experience, and training, as requested by HR or chaplain services leadership.
Serve as an advisor to management on matters of religion, morals/ethics, and Team Member morale and pulse.
Maintain moral and ethical character and conduct that is above reproach and protects the reputational integrity of the company and chaplaincy program.
Keep accurate records of contacts and write required reports assisting leadership in identifying and assessing thematic risk.
Requirements:
Education: Minimum requirement Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred .
4 units of clinical pastoral education OR the willingness to complete 4 units within 2 years of employment)
Clergy endorsement
Chaplain board certification preferred.
Note: Official documentation of degree completion from a CHEA accredited OR international equivalent institution in a content area relevant to chaplaincy - acceptable concentrations would include applicable theological and human science degrees.
Experience: 3-5 years of chaplain experience in a culturally diverse and faith inclusive context is preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer and video conferencing skills to include MS Office programs.
Communication Skills: Chaplains must possess English language proficiency – speaking, reading, and writing. Bilingual skills are preferred.
Special Skills: Basic case management and mental health assessment skills preferred.
Supervisory: NA
Travel: 1-2 weeks annually
Misc: Must have reliable transportation to and from plant facilities and other locations requesting chaplaincy support (hospitals, hospices, funeral homes, etc.).
