Summary

The Hospice Chaplain provides emotional support and religious and non-religious care of the spirit by helping people cope with questions and other issues raised by terminal illness. The Hospice Chaplain is part of the interdisciplinary hospice team.

Schedule

Part-time position working 16 hours per two weeks. Shift times 8:00AM to 4:30PM

Pay 

Starting pay begins at $26.59 per hour; exact wage determined by years of related experience.  Pay range: $26.59 to $39.88 per hour

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in theology, counseling, pastoral ministry, psychology, and/or sociology required. Specialized training in Pastoral Care required. Minimum one year experience ministering to the spiritual/emotional needs of the sick. For example, visiting, praying with and supporting them in their belief system/religious practices. Demonstrated skills in interpersonal communication, public relations, human relations, and time management. Knowledge of death, dying, grief and bereavement required. Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, families and interdisciplinary team members. Must have reliable transportation to make visits as necessary. A valid MN Driver’s License, a driving record in good standing, and the minimum amount of insurance liability coverage required.
