Responsible for providing spiritual care to patients, their families, and staff. Provides supportive care and guidance as well as religious rituals, as desired.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Collaborates with the Manager of Spiritual Care and the Manger of Outpatient and Inpatient Oncology Services to maximize spiritual support for Oncology patients in the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center.
2. Follows Palliative Care Oncology patient throughout the hospital, as well as in the Outpatient Oncology Service areas.
3. Assists families in crisis and provides clinical presence with patients/families.
4. Participates in the Spiritual Care Department's outreach to patients for religious holiday observances.
5. Facilitates rituals and memorial services for patients and staff.
6. Participates as an active member of the Spiritual Care Department and the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center, as well as hospital, corporate, community, and interdisciplinary committees.
7. Creates and sustains an advanced level of staff and patient awareness.
8. Develops and implements strategies to achieve innovative goals.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
