We learn, grow, and achieve more – in our careers and in our communities. **Job Description Summary:** The Chaplain Resident participates as a student in the Clinical Pastoral Education Program and provides pastoral care and spiritual support to patients, family members/significant others and staff throughout assigned OhioHealth facilities. Usually this involves development of a "parish" within the hospital assigned OhioHealth facilities. The chaplain Resident actively serves as a member of an ecumenical/interfaith pastoral care staff sharing in activities such as staff meetings, on-call responsibilities, and providing hospital wide worship experiences. **Responsibilities And Duties:** 50% Fully participates in the Clinical Pastoral Education Program, completing all assignments and other course requirements on time with a level of quality commensurate with graduate level education. 15% Provides ongoing, hands-on ministry to patients, families and staff through spiritual care, prayer, sacramental ministry, response to "codes" and "crisis calls," and educating and assisting patients with advance directives. 15% Shares rotation of all "on-call" responsibilities as needed. 5% Participates as member of hospital interdisciplinary teams and serves on both Pastoral Care department and general hospital wide committees. 5% Attends Pastoral Care staff meetings and educational retreats. 5% Supports and performs variety of responsibilities related to the system decedent care program where practiced, such as: grief counseling, assisting nursing and medical staff in completing necessary paperwork. 2% Serves as contact person or liaison between local clergy, patients, families and staff. 1% Participates in policy development, strategic planning, and evaluation of Pastoral Care Department. 2% Assists in responding to requests for workshops, lectures, etc. from hospital, church and community. 1% Shares responsibilities for providing a variety of worship services as appropriate e and may include memorial services. **Minimum Qualifications:** Associate's Degree (Required) **Additional Job Description:** Field of Study: Theology Years of Experience 0 **Work Shift:** Day **Scheduled Weekly Hours :** 40 **Department** Clinical Pastoral Education Join us! ... if your passion is to work in a caring environment ... if you believe that learning is a life-long process ... if you strive for excellence and want to be among the best in the healthcare industry Equal Employment Opportunity OhioHealth is an equal opportunity employer and fully supports and maintains compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations.
