Character Art Intern, Summer/Fall 2025

As a Character Art Intern, you will be responsible for producing character artwork for both two-dimensional and/or three-dimensional product applications. If selected, you will work on projects at all levels of complexity with the team while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards. **What You Will Do:** + Development of character illustrations for style guides and portfolios across multiple properties and cross divisions. + Idea generation for Franchise Expansion + Art style/new technique development to co-ordinate with trends in the marketplace + Contribute to new product ideas and participate in brainstorming sessions. + Maintain high character art standards for the region. + Develop a strong character art community across GPC + Understand Disney Characters and Disney storytelling and how it translates to products. **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:** + An understanding/working knowledge of graphic design, character art, or merchandise design + An understanding of the principles of cartooning, cartoon animation and character art + Previous exposure and skill in multiple mediums including: sculpting, painting, and drawing + Strong traditional and digital drawing skills and concepting skills. + Proficiency and confidence in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop + Please be a fresh and inventive creative thinker with a proven ability to work strongly as part of a team + An understanding and awareness of marketplace trends + Able to present creative concepts in both formal and informal settings. **Education** Current Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Art or Design **Required Materials** + **A portfolio review is required for this position.** For full consideration, please include a URL link to your portfolio on your résumé. **Applicants without a portfolio link on their résumé will not be considered a completed application packet and will not be considered for the position** **Eligibility Requirements & Program Information** Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements: + Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program. + Be at least 18 years of age + Possess unrestricted work authorization **Additional Information** + The approximate dates of this in person internship are **June 9th 2025- January 3rd 2026** + Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship + Must provide own housing during the internship program in the Orlando area + Must have reliable transportation to/from work + Housing: We can possibly assist with housing opportunities for Florida Based Professional Interns through American Campus Communities, for more information click here The pay rate for this role in Florida is $22.00 per hour.
