Position Highlights:

Position: Charge Entry Representative LeadHourly Pay Range: $19.89 - $28.84. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate’s expertise and years of experience, among other factors.Location: Warrenville, ILFull TimeHours: Monday-Friday, 7am – 7:30pmRequired Travel: As needed

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, oversee the day-to-day activity of the Charge Capture and Patient Service Rep (PSR) staff. Trains/educates new staff on charge capture responsibilities, registration, and call center.

What you will do:

In addition, performing duties of Charge Capture/Review Specialist as needed, acts as a resource for Charge Capture and PSR staff to resolve issues related to charge capture and registration.Utilizes ICD, CPT/HCPCS and related materials to investigate charge capture issues.Trains/orients new staff on registration, charge capture, call center and insurance follow up.Responsible for staffing the call center.  Creates monthly staff schedule, and manages staffing gaps and unscheduled absences.Responsible for monitoring and reporting on the efficiency and productivity of the team.  Maintains regular communication with management.Assists staff with complex payor denials and patient questions related to billing.Monitors and works charge capture and registration work queue to ensure charges worked within established timeframes.Schedules appointments per scheduling guidelines and works with charge capture staff to resolve any scheduling issues.  Maintains/updates the scheduling parameters for each EMG location.Keeps abreast of current changes in charge capture and reimbursement requirements for government programs and other third-party payors.Participates in meetings and/or seminars and disseminates the information to peers to enhance the knowledge and skills of the department.Maintains confidentiality of patient information in all situations.Participates in meetings/projects related to coding, systems enhancements, and provide feedback on ways to improve current workflows.Performs other related duties as needed in order to support the achievement of department goals and objectives.

What you will need:

Education: High school diploma or GEDCertification: A valid driver’s license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.Experience: Two years of charge entry experience or one year physician office experienceUnique or Preferred Skills:Knowledge of diagnostic and procedural terminology, ICD, and CPT/HCPCS coding systemsKnowledge of billing compliance rules
