Charge Master Coordinator - Reimbursement
Job Description MAIN FUNCTION: Maintenance of Health Systems Provider. Collect and prepare analysis to various internal and external users for the purpose of obtaining accurate third party reimbursement. Assist in preparing special analysis and participating in internal reviews related to billing/charging accuracy. This position reports to the Director of Reimbursement. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Is responsible for the maintenance of the Arnot Health's Chargemaster, including adding, deleting charges and assuring codes (CPT & HPCS) are current and comply with third party billing requirements. Coordinates yearly chargemaster review with an outside agency. This includes direct contact, coordination and oversight of pricing and coding changes with all revenue producing department heads. 2. Assists Hospital Billing Staff in resolving NCCI and MUE Billing Edits. 3. Knowledge of CPT and HCPCS related to Billing by verifying Clinical Documentation. Verifies Clinical Documentation related to Billing through the use of medical record software systems. 4. Exports Data/Reports from Billing System for further analysis. 5. Audits system reports and works with Department Managers to address charging issues, new charges and changes in charges, 6. Participates in internal reviews and special projects requested by the Corporate Compliance Committee, external auditors, Arnot Health personnel, Reimbursement Director, and Vice President of Finance. 7. Is responsible for attending all annual mandatory educational programs as required by position. 8. Employee understands and demonstrates the importance of satisfying the needs of the customer/patient by interacting with him/her in a friendly and caring way, being attentive to the customer’s needs, both psychologically and physically, and by taking the initiative to maintain communication with the customer in order to provide a secure and pleasant experience with the Arnot Health. 9. EDUCATION: High school diploma required, Associates degree in Accounting preferred. Billing experience and coding experience preferred. EXPERIENCE: Requires one year experience in related area. Experience with reimbursement, hospital operations and third party regulations preferable. Proficiency in the use of PC and spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Excel) required. CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) REQUIREMENTS:No CPR required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Light physical effort. Typical office jobs.Ability to frequently lift 10lbs and occasionally lift 25lbs. EXPOSURE CATEGORY: Category III. Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. And Category I tasks are not a condition of employment. Requirements
