As a Charge Nurse, you'll perform all appropriate nursing assessments, evaluate client/patient's physical condition, complete required screenings, monitor health status, work with the treatment team to coordinate care, oversee infectious disease control and client/patient hygiene, provide health education, arrange medical appointments, administer and oversee medication administration, and complete all required documentation. Our ideal candidate has a thorough knowledge of nursing principles, theories, and practices in mental health and/or substance abuse services, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to maintain calm and professionalism in crisis situations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform all appropriate nursing assessments per service line requirements, utilizing a high level of clinical competenceEvaluate the client/patient's physical condition and the need for servicesComplete required screenings, record the client/patient's initial medical histories and vital signs; coordinate any required action planning based on resultsMonitor the health status of the client/patient during services providedWork with the treatment team to coordinate care based on client/patient needsCreate action plans for client/patient based on physical and mental health in regards to treatment needsOversee infectious disease control, client/patient hygiene, and related client & facility health issues, under the supervision of nursing leadershipProvide disease prevention, risk reduction and other health education as neededArrange medical appointments for client/patients dealing with medical conditions that occur during treatment and manage medical emergencies, such as accidental injuries and/or drug reactionsConsult with a physician/advanced practice provider as necessary or advocate for medical services through managed care organizationsArrange or monitor special dietary needs for medical conditionsReview medication requirements with clients/patients, educating the client and guardian (if necessary) about the benefits of taking prescribed medications as prescribedAdminister and oversee administration of medications via various methods according to service line requirements; Monitor medication compliance in regard to State Regulatory standardsConsult with the physician/advanced practice provider or pharmacy to confirm medications prescribedOversee therapeutic injection of medication (subcutaneous or intramuscular)Monitor lab levels including consultation with physicians/advanced practice providers, clients, and clinical staffCoordinate medication needs with pharmacies, clients/patients, and families, including the use of indigent drug programsMonitor medication side-effects including the use of standardized evaluationsMonitor physician orders for treatment modifications requiring client/patient educationAssists Physician/Advanced Practice Provider with client/patient examsSets up and draws any necessary labs and performs any special procedures as requested by the Physician/Advanced Practice ProviderComplete all required documentation in a timely manner as indicated in company policies and proceduresDemonstrate interest in long term and short term goals and objectives of the companyOther duties as assigned by program leadership

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Current Registered Nurse licensed in the state of practiceMust be willing to become licensed in additional states, other than the state currently licensed inMust be willing and comfortable with providing telehealth services to the individuals we serve

Required License/Certification (one of the following):
• BCLS certification required, ACLS certification preferred

Communicates effectively & therapeutically to clients, family members, employees, & other contacts within the community in-person, via telephone, and via video conferencing
