Charge Preceptor RN, Operating Room, Perimeter Advanced Surgery Center

As a Charge Nurse, coordinates daily activities and distribution of work in area during scheduled shift; as a Preceptor Nurse, acts as a professional educator and resource for employees, demonstrating clinical expertise and competence. The range of roles between Charge and Preceptor may vary dependent upon patient acuity and volume issues. Care and/or services can be provided to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This position is required to set priorities based on the situation at hand, and is a combination of direct patient care, management (charge), and education (preceptor) roles.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

 

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:

BSN degree Two (2) years recent experience in current clinical specialty (i.e., critical care, surgical services, diabetes education, radiology, etc.) Prior operating room, PACU, or ICU experience or completion of a course in perioperative nursing. Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
