Randol Mill Road Arlington, Texas 76012 **Work hours:** Full-Time (36 Hours a week) Night Shift - 3/12 hour shifts per week **Department highlights:** · 50 bed ED which includes our vertical treatment area that is called the JET (joint evaluation and treatment). · Level 3 trauma center · Chest pain, CHF and stroke accredited through TJC and received a gold plus level (the highest level there is) for all 3 programs. · Magnet facility **Here’s What You Need** + Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred + Current RN licensure upon hire required + BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required + ACLS – within 90 days required + CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire + PALS - within 90 days of hire + ATCN - Advanced Trauma Care Nurse within 12 Months of hire + TNCC - within 12 months of hire + 1 year experience as a clinical nurse required + 2 Years Experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting preferred + At least 1 year of ER or Critical Care experience preferred **What You Will Do** In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Charge RN will model the eight caring factors listed below. + Basic Human Needs - Responds to others' priorities regarding safety, physical, psychological, and social needs. + Human Respect - Honors worth of humans through unconditional acceptance. + Affiliation Needs - Engages family/caregivers in health care situations. + Appreciation of Unique Meanings - Concerned with understanding others frame of reference. + Mutual Problem Solving - Professional behaviors that help patients and families understand how to confront, learn about, and think about their health and illness; involves a reciprocal, shared approach with resulting decisions acceptable to involved parties. + Attentive Reassurance - Listens and concentrates on others. The Charge Nurse role will support and actively participate in shared governance/councils which is Texas Health’s structure for decision making. This role directly assists leadership on a particular unit or units and shift, by offering staff guidance and support, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and ensuring unit operational tasks are completed.
