Charge Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical – Oncology – PRN Nights

Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 W. Parker Plano, TX 75093
Work hours: PRN Nights, as needed, varied shifts
Department Highlights: Medical Surgical Oncology (20 Beds) - Medical Surgical Oncology patients, chemotherapy patients, blood transfusions and highly complex biologic drug infusions. You will have the opportunity to become chemotherapy/biotherapy certified.
Here’s what you need:
* Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred
* Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
* BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
* ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 days required and
* CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 days required and
* ONS - Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate 18 months Req
* 1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
* Two (2) years of clinical experience in Oncology preferred
What you will do:
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
* assesses the patient
* plans the care of the patient
* intervenes as appropriate
* evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
* Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
* Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
* Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers

Texas Health Plano is an Advanced Level III Trauma Facility, accredited Chest Pain Center and is the recipient of the Disease Specific Care Certifications from the Joint Commission in Chest Pain, Joint Replacement- Hip and Joint Replacement – Knee and Advanced Certification as a Primary Stroke Center.
