Review system-assigned deficiencies for appropriate allocation; investigate and reassign declined deficiencies returned to the various pools and assist providers in completing the medical records electronically and in a timely manner. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsibilities: EDUCATION + High school graduate or equivalent required + Associate degree in health related field required; AS in Health Information Technology with certification as a RHIT is preferred + In lieu of an Associates degree, a candidate with three-five (3-5) years of Health Information department experience and medical terminology may be considered EXPERIENCE + Six (6) months experience in a Health Information department is preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY + Computer literate + Medical terminology required, must successfully pass test + Visual acuity to read physician documentation in the medical record to distinguish completeness + Ability to read medical record numbers and patient names + Ability to utilize the computer to enter the physician deficiencies throughout the day + Strong analytical and organizational skills, ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines + Work effectively under pressure while maintaining excellent customer service skills + Familiar with basic medical terminology; knowledgeable of medical record regulatory requirements as well as medical staff rules and regulations WORKING CONDITIONS + Individual works in an office setting using medical records and computers to perform duties + Occasional travel to department storage areas and incomplete record filing area to retrieve medical record ENVIRONMENT + Normal heat, light space, and safe working environment; typical of most office jobs REQNUMBER: 33769
