Charters/Corp/Incentive Sales Director

The CMI Sales Director will be responsible for maintaining and developing business for Carnival Cruise Line through any means outside that of normal trade (travel agency) channels.   This includes but is not limited to; assigned incentive accounts, new charter opportunities, gift card or pre-paid loyalty companies and any direct group opportunities focused on the corporate or incentive market.             

Essential Functions:

Develop and foster relationships with existing accounts via regularly scheduled in person sales calls and maintaining detailed records of all contacts. Utilize and maximize budgeted sales opportunities  Identify new accounts via lead generation and networking.  Converting these to sales of MICE, charter and B2B pre-paid loyalty business while reporting and tracking progress in approved CRM.  Follow up on all leads provided by Carnival within 24 hours and continue those leads through sales process/final execution of program Represent Carnival at industry events as well as requirements for accounts.  Support CMI team as needed with ship site inspections. 

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s degree Discipline/Major:  Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Communications Required Certifications:  CIS, CITP, CMP, or other industry designations preferred      Required Years and Area of Professional Experience:  5 Years of Sales Experience        Critical Professional Related Technical/Computer Skills:  Computer skills required including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Other Requirements: Must be able to travel up to 70% of time, including weekends.      Preferred Experience & Type:  Direct, Supplier or Incentive Sales Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Contract negotiations, relationship building, must be comfortable public speaking, strong written and verbal communications, time management skills, self-starter and driven to succeed, understanding of the MICE market preferred, enjoys networking with the ability to close sales

Decision-Making:

Standard:  These decisions are those that are repetitive decisions on a recurring basis and are commonly related to daily activities. They are relatively simple, relying on historical data and previous solutions. Examples are: reordering of standard office supplies, handling transactions.   

Physical Demands:  Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.  May need to stand for long periods of time.

Travel:  More than 50% with shipboard travel likely.  More than 50% non-shipboard travel likely.

Work Conditions:  Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.  May be required to work a different shift.

The range for this role’s salary $75,900-$90,000.  Offers to the selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
