Essential qualifications:

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent culinary qualifications or experience.

Current Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain one).

Essential skills and attributes:

Craft balanced, nutritious meals tailored for young children’s developmental needs.

Design rotating menus that cater to diverse dietary requirements (think gluten-free, dairy-free, halal!).

Prepare meals with a keen awareness of food allergies and intolerances.

Adhere to strict food safety and hygiene protocols.

Work efficiently within budget constraints while delivering tasty dishes.

Punctuality is key—meal prep must align with our schedules!

Desirable skills:

Previous experience in a Chef or Cook role, especially in early childhood settings.

Knowledge of nutritional requirements for young children and understanding common allergies.

Create culturally diverse dishes to make mealtime an educational adventure!

Familiarity with sustainable food practices and sourcing locally.
