Job Title: Compounder
Job Description

This position involves operating and controlling a processing unit or series of units to effect specific chemical changes in formulated products to achieve desired results. The role requires following prescribed and standardized procedures, with some degree of latitude due to the reactive nature of the substances processed. The compounder will measure and charge materials into processing equipment and transfer them in accordance with the processing sequence. Additionally, they will observe instruments and gauges, obtain samples for testing, maintain process records, and regulate manual, automatic, or electronic control devices to ensure proper chemical reactions or results. Under the direction of the lab, the compounder may modify standard processes to correct batch irregularities.

ResponsibilitiesOperate and control processing units to effect specific chemical changes.Follow prescribed procedures with some degree of latitude.Measure and charge materials into processing equipment.Transfer materials in accordance with processing sequence.Observe instruments and gauges, obtain samples for testing.Maintain process records as required.Regulate and adjust control devices to ensure proper chemical reactions.Modify standard processes under lab direction to correct batch irregularities.Essential Skills2 years of batch making experience in chemical production, paints/coatings, or food.Experience working off of a batch record/ticket.Skills in chemical mixing, compounding, blending, and batch making.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma, GED, or HSED required.Experience in chemical compounding, batching, blending, and chemical manufacturing.Work Environment

The role is based in a chemical manufacturing facility with strong chemical smells. The position requires sitting 10%, standing and walking 80%, and kneeling or twisting 10% of the time. Candidates must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided. The work hours are night shift from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with flexibility in the start time. Training may occur on the first shift before transitioning to the night shift. The work environment values efficiency and offers performance-based pay raises upon achieving high competency levels in specific areas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
