Conducts biopsychosocial assessments utilizing approved assessment instruments; interprets patient disclosures and collateral contacts to determine the presence of a substance use disorder and/or mental health disorder. Utilizes DSM multi-axial diagnosis and ASAM PPC to assess appropriate level of care. Provides individual/group counseling, case management, discharge planning, education, and referral assistance to individuals with substance use disorders and/or mental health conditions.

Required Qualifications:
Washington Substance Use Disorder Professional License upon hire. 1 year - Counseling experience in a state-approved substance abuse or mental health facility.Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's Degree - Social work, psychology, sociology, or other human services or related field, in accordance with WAC 246-811-030. Bachelor's Degree - Social work, psychology, sociology, or other behavioral science field. 3 years - School Substance Abuse Counselor Intervention requirement: Minimum of 3 years of recent (last 5 years) documented experience working with individuals that have substance abuse and concurrent mental health problemsWhy Join Providence Swedish?
