Position Overview

This is an exciting and\nunique opportunity to work around the world as part of a Field Operating\nService (FOS) team, supported by technology experts from Honeywell UOP’s\nTechnical Service Group. FOS advisors are on-site prior, during, and after the\ninitial start-up of UOP technologies. They help to ensure that the technology\nand customer operators are ready for commissioning. Advisors are also involved\nin the test runs that demonstrate guarantees, they provide technical insight\nand assist customers in resolving engineering and operating issues.
UOP advisors may remain at a\nsite for a few days to several months before moving to the next assignment. For\neach start-up, advisors may work with a number of UOP-licensed processes and a\nvariety of individuals within and outside of UOP. The experience gained from\neach assignment, and the subsequent interaction with other UOP employees,\nprovide a solid background for assessing and solving problems encountered in\neach situation in various locations around the world. As advisors gain experience,\nthey have opportunities to advance to positions of increased accountability\nwithin the FOS organization.
MUST be able to commit to\ntravelling international and domestically and reside onsite for long uninterrupted\nperiods of time (Typical assignments are four to six months but one day to one\nyear possible).
Begin your career with 12 months in the Early Career Program where you will be exposed to a\nvariety of functions including Research and Process Development, Process\nEngineering and/ or Technical Service.  You\nwill gain experience in one or more of UOP’s key refining and petrochemical technologies\nwith a variety of activities that may include operating pilot plants, designing,\ntroubleshooting and/ or servicing UOP process units, and performing other\nchallenging assignments.  
Following these 12 months of\ntraining Engineers will transfer to Field Operating Service (FOS).  In FOS they will travel full time for 3-5\nyears on assignments to multiple locations around the world supporting UOP\ncustomers in operating plants as a process engineer and advisor.

Key Responsibility

Completion of a 12-month training program designed to\n develop the skills needed to be FOS technical advisor.  This includes:
- Independent learning as well as\n structured classroom and hands-on training
- Training focused on safety and UOP\n technology, processes and procedures by which UOP delivers technology to\n our customers
- On the job training and\n value-added work in 3-4 rotational work assignments in Operations,\n Engineering, Technical Service, Digital, or Business groups
- Soft skills training, including\n cultural awareness, conflict management, and communication coursesTransfer to Field Operating Service for a duration of\n at least 3-5 years.  In Field\n Operating Service you will be on international and domestic assignments.  Some of the accountabilities are:
- Following all required safety\n procedures and adhering to FOS, UOP and Honeywell policies
- Field training
- Setting and meeting customer\n expectations
- Completing a detailed checkout of\n new UOP process units prior to initial start up in order to assure that\n the completed unit conforms to UOP specifications
- Providing field technical\n assistance and field support for development activities in commercial\n units, and suggesting improvements on UOP process designs
- Troubleshooting and recommending\n innovative solutions
- Coordinating commissioning\n activities
- Transferring technology to\n customers operating and engineering staff
- Reviewing emergency and normal\n operating procedures with customer personnel
- Collecting and effective analysis of\n unit operating data and laboratory results
- Monitoring and advising on process\n operating conditions
- Advising customer personnel on the\n long-term routine activities for effective operation of a UOP process\n unit
- Advising customers on scheduling,\n procedures, normal operating variables and response to emergency\n situations and unscheduled process changes, under the guidance of the\n Chief Technical Advisor if availableYou Must HaveBEng Chemical\n EngineeringAbility and willingness\n to travel internationally and domestically and reside onsite for long\n uninterrupted periods of time.
