Job Title: Process Technician
Job Description
The Process Technician is primarily responsible for manufacturing sensing elements used in various detection systems. This role involves operating equipment, weighing and measuring raw materials, maintaining inventory records, and performing in-process tests to ensure batch quality. The technician must follow written and verbal instructions to fabricate, inspect, and package chemical-based products while maintaining accurate production records.
Responsibilities
+ Manual assembly and packaging of products
+ Organize materials and work areas
+ Suggest items for the 'Continuous Improvement' initiative
+ Record keeping and maintaining data sheets
+ Fabrication, inspection, and packaging of chemical-based products
+ Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
+ Assembling mechanical parts according to manufacturing documentation
+ Performing mechanical assembly, including pneumatic and optical micro assemblies
+ Conducting leak checks and vacuum seals on equipment
+ Wiring electronic components as instructed
+ Executing sub-assembly, process assembly, inspection, modifications, upgrades, and rework
Essential Skills
+ Ability to follow written Standard Operating Procedures and verbal instructions
+ Organizational skills
+ Relevant computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office)
+ Ability to safely handle lab equipment/tools and chemicals
+ Knowledge of process improvement and lean manufacturing
+ Mechanical assembly concepts
+ Experience with pneumatic and optical micro assemblies
+ Familiarity with performing leak checks and vacuum seals
+ Wire electronic components
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate's degree or High School diploma/GED with 3 or more years of experience in an assembly or production environment
+ Self-motivated, dependable, and excellent communication skills
+ Good manual dexterity and meticulous attention to detail
+ Ability to quickly learn new work operations
+ Prior assembly or lean manufacturing experience is a plus
+ Experience in chemistry/biology or prior lab equipment experience is a plus
+ Ability to lift 50 pounds from ground to table height
Work Environment
The role involves working the PM shift from 3pm to 11pm in an office environment, 5 days a week. The work is conducted at a designated test workbench in a very clean and climate-controlled setting. While part of a team, individual tasks will be performed.
