What you’ll do

Primary responsibility of this entry level role is to provide support in the production of quality technical materials and intermediates in a safe and efficient manner.  May initially possess limited knowledge of equipment and processes but has the capability and motivation to learn on the job.

 

Read and understand standard operating procedures (SOP);Stages raw and finished materials and prepares packaging materials;Takes required samples during production process;Decontaminates equipment and piping for maintenance or disposal;Utilizes personal protective equipment matrix;Maintains inventories of disposable, production, and safety related materials;Recognizes material compatibilities;Handles waste and other contaminated trash per SOP;Conducts charging and filling operations;Operates fork trucks and various hand tools;Maintains plant hazard communication labeling program;Maintains excellent housekeeping standards throughout the plant area;Assists in product change over activities;Observe all company work and safety procedures;Able to complete initial RCRA hazardous waste training within 6 months of starting job to become knowledgeable of RCRA hazardous waste regulations, waste determinations, waste codes, and how to immediately communicate discovery of spills and leaks.  Training will provide critical information about labeling, inspection, and recordkeeping requirements to accumulate waste in satellite accumulation areas, containers, and tanks.

 

Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED equivalent;Ability to work 24/7 rotating shifts including weekends and required overtime; Employees can expect to work built-in overtime, mandatory overtime, in addition to voluntary overtime;Ability to pass a post-offer physical and perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation;Able and willing to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including use of respirator with full facemask to supply oxygen;Able and willing to climb ladders or riding Aerial Lifts as necessary; harnessed into an anti-fall device and tied off.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

High School diploma/GED AND 6 months fulltime work/military experience OR 12 months parttime work/military experience; OR completed a career and technical Education (CTE) Work-Ready Program prior to graduating High School; OR High School diploma/GED AND 6 months fulltime post-secondary education also considered;Ability to use or learn computer control/display screens, process pumps and equipment, various hand tools, fork trucks, full-face respirator, self-contained breathing apparatus, and various other forms of PPE;Areas of work experience may include but not limited to chemical plants.
