Chemical Policy Analyst

To that end, Boeing is seeking an experienced **Chemical Policy Analyst** to join our Sustainability Policy Risk Management team – and embedded with our EU Policy Team - based in Brussels, Belgium. This team contributes to public policy development for the Company and is looking for a dynamic and engaged professional to advance the enterprise’s chemical policy portfolio in the EU. The role includes evaluating and communicating potential impacts, risks, and requirements of chemical policy developments on company operations, informing company strategy to mitigate risk, and working with internal stakeholders and external industry associations on advocacy and impact assessments. **The Role:** + Track, monitor, analyse emerging EU chemical regulations and legislation affecting products, operations and support services. + Assess and communicate the impact of emerging issues, legislation and regulations on operations; recommend strategies to mitigate risk and communicate requirements and schedule for compliance. + Collaborate with Boeing business units (commercial, defence and services) and relevant functions (e.g. Enterprise Sustainability, Compliance, Supply Chain, Legal etc.) to understand, coordinate and help advance their chemical substitution strategy, goals, and compliance activities. + Work with leadership to facilitate risk management decisions, compliance obligations and production continuity requirements. + Partner with internal and external stakeholders to inform and guide the company position and resulting advocacy plans in order to best represent the interests of the company. + Develop and nurture relationships with external institutional stakeholders, including government and non-governmental organizations, customer and supplier coalitions, business associations, and policy-oriented think tanks. Identify areas of mutual interest and strengthen the company position through a joint sphere of influence. + Identify relevant forums to engage new audiences and to stimulate conversations around the progress made and work ahead concerning chemical policy. + Externally represent the company’s sustainability commitment and interest by attending and speaking at conferences, on panels, and at industry expert workshops. **Responsibilities** **:** + This position requires detailed knowledge of and relationships with key EU regulators and industry partners in the area of chemical policy. + This position requires proven track record working with government agencies in the EU chemical policy field and experience with regulatory programs (such as EU REACH) political processes. + Hands-on experience in chemical policy for aerospace and defence products, operations and services, and toxicology/chemical/environmental engineering is preferred. + Ideally, the candidate will have worked in the field of chemical policy for European institutions, business coalition or for the transport industry. + The selected successful candidate will have proven ability to engage and inspire multiple internal and external stakeholders to drive involvement and collaboration on chemical policy. + The successful candidate will have a natural propensity to build relationships and strong business acumen to assess impacts of chemical policy to the aerospace industry. + Above all, the selected successful candidate will be a team player with a passion for sustainability and enthusiasm for the aviation industry. **Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):** + Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor's degree or higher) and extensive work experience in relevant fields. + Significant experience in sustainability, government relations or related institutions. + Significant experience in Politics, Campaigns, Public affairs and/or issue advocacy. + Experience in multi-tasking and working in a team environment. + Fluent in both written and verbal English. + Work experience within the government, political organizations, think tanks, or other related roles. **Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):** + Significant experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners. + Experience in sustainability, government, government relations, and/or business development. + Preferably in (but not limited to): Global corporation, consulting firm, global regulator, an Embassy, or Government Affairs office. + Strong passion for disclosures, reporting, politics, public policy, political science, and innovative partnerships. **Work Authorisation:** This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brussels.
