Essential Functions:

Monitor galvanized equipment and fluids, to adjust flow ratesAdd acid and maintain fluid levels and temperatures in the galvanizing processing tanksAdd nickel and albumin to the kettle, and to monitor the RO systemOperate screwdrivers, wrenches, and cutting tools to perform minor maintenance on the galvanizing process tanksOperate forkliftMaintain and complete accurate logsMust work in a safe and conscientious manner, paying constant attention to detailsResponsible for communicating problems or needs to departmental supervision

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

No DegreeNo (0) to one (1) year of relevant experienceWork with exposure to sulfuric acidAble to operate a forklift, use hand tools, electrical drills, saws, and pneumatic toolsWork one (1) to two (2) shifts of overtime per weekWear a respirator for extended periods of time and other required Personal Protective Equipment for the production facilityPerform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividingRead and interpret simple charts, tables, flow diagrams, and troubleshooting guidesThe ability to stand and / or walk for up to 95% of the shiftLift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, with most frequent lift of up to 20 poundsCommunicate and interact with coworkers in a professional mannerPay attention to detail and follow work instructionsHigh awareness for safety, the ability to recognize hazardous substances and know employee responsibility for chemical safety

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalentA working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPointOne (1) year of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environmentOne (1) year of experience operating hand and / or power toolsOne (1) year of experience with overhead crane operationsPrior experience with on the job troubleshooting

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
