Chemical Systems Engineer I

This position is part of the Design Engineering Department located in Coralville, IA and will be on-site. At IDT, we are one global team. Together, we accomplish great things In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Produce chemical system designs under guidance of senior engineers (including the creation of engineering drawings to technical standards, management of P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), process flow diagrams, and supporting the development of technical and product documentation) + Learn industry standards and best practices for design and safety. + Assist in the manufacturing of chemical systems. You will participate in the installation of equipment at customer sites as well as support validation processes by executing test plans and documenting results for review by senior engineers. + Participate in troubleshooting tasks to identify issues with equipment, documentation of designs, and modifications of legacy manufacturing systems. + Other duties as assigned. The essential requirements of the job include: + Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, (or a related field) or equivalent experience and education. + Basic proficiency with 2D/3D CAD modeling software such as Solid Edge, Solid Works, PTC Creo, Etc. + Basic to intermediate understanding of chemical system piping and components. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Basic mechanical skills useful for assembly of pressurized piping or components. + Industrial sensors such as pressure transducers or level switches. + Project management and technical writing.
